Sooooo, yesterday I started a different position at Chick-fil-a. It is nice to have a break from handling roughly 2,100 pieces of chicken everyday (not including nuggets of course), but in my new position, I've already made 900 biscuits in the past two days. Needless to say, working in the fast-food business has been quite an eye opening experience. Never in my wildest dreams did I think it would be as physical as it truly is, but three weeks in and my body is finally starting to tone down on the aching. Also, it's interesting to see how every part of the business comes together to function and ensure quality and swift service.
When I worked at the hardware store, I was relatively custom to waking up early and traveling 30 minutes to work. However, when I am setting my alarm clock for 3:55am everyday, it brings about a new awareness to an early morning. However, the commute is quite ideal early in the morning. I travel through 19 red lights and stop for none of them. The hardest part of an early morning is going to bed early. It's not that I'm wide awake late at night, (quite the opposite actually) I just feel like I'm missing out on time spent with my wife, however know this is only a stage in my life and hopefully won't last too long :)

Valentine's Day
You know, Valentine's day itself is not that important to Jeff and me. I think honestly we will take any occasion or excuse to get to spend special time together, whether playing some frisbee or going to a nice restaurant.
This occasion, Jeff, my precious husband surprised me today (the day we chose to celebrate) with my favorite flowers (tulips) and an amazingly sweet note that actually made me cry. Sweet words never get old! Being loved and appreciated by your best friend and husband is wonderful :)
Tonight we went to Charlie's Steakhouse for a wonderful meal and quality time together!
We pray that we never stop enjoying dating each other!

chicken breasts and policies
Just first wanted to say that we are both thankful to the Lord for Jeff's new job at Chick-fil-a.
He is currently mastering the art of filleting and breading chicken! It is a very grueling job, but after one week of work he has already received a lot of compliments on his hard work.
As for me, Courtney, I'm currently overwhelmed with the constant balancing act of school, internship, and work. I am enjoying my time with clients, but I am NOT enjoying my policy project for school right now. If anyone is curious about institutions for mental disease and Medicaid's lack of funding for them, contact me. haha
Anyway, this has been a long enough distraction from my policy paper.
Until the next time, don't hold a candle to the devil!

About US
It seems appropriate to have our first post on our blog to be Our Story, even thought most anyone who will see this blog probably already knows us.
Here's OUR STORY:
Courtney and I met for the second time during our latter years of college in the fall of 2008. To our surprise, we had previously met in early childhood, yet were separated when Courtney moved away to North Carolina in 1991. (We even have baby books & home videos to prove it!) It didn't take many long conversations and fun-filled days to realize we had something special.
The only request Courtney had made of me concerning my proposal was that she HAD to be surprised!! And boy was she surprised! :) On Wednesday, January 13, 2010, Courtney and I went on a casual day out to downtown Greenville for some ice cream by the park. I'll let her tell you the rest.
Jeff surprised me with a gift that was a photo book that he had been working on for several months (which is why I fell for the "white lie" that it was a belated gift for our one-year anniversary). Let me add, Jeff has filled our relationship with extremely thoughtful gifts, which is why I was able to be fooled from realizing what was actually happening on this "random" Wednesday afternoon.
Jeff had written me a story of our entire relationship which was mixed with pictures of our past year together. After unsuccessfully holding back my tears throughout the entire book, the last page was a picture of him holding the ring. Once I looked up, he was already on one knee and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him! And of course, I cried YES!
On October 23, 2010 we were officially joined as one!
